That's the simplest way we can describe NCAP's participation in this year's BULPRISA (Bulacan Private Schools Association) District Meet. Undeniably, this year's BULPRISA participation could land in the Top 3 best performances of NCAP in this yearly meet. People who saw NCAP Green Rangers compete in different events were treated to the competitive spirit that our pupils and students showed. Our slogan, "One Big Surge!" was really showcased all throughout the event.
Almost all of our pupils and students that competed in academic events were in the top 10 list of finishers, with several landing a spot in the top 3, bringing home medals to highlight their participation. The same was the case in cultural events. Dixie Mae P. Cristobal even won First Place in high school vocal solo competition.
But it was in athletic events that we really flexed our muscles. Kevin Aldous DC. Velasco won 1st place in table tennis competitions for Elementary. Charisse O. Clarin was also 1st place in badminton high school competitions. Charisse also won 2nd place together with Kimberly Joy C. Cruz in the doubles event. Alysa Rae S. Del Rosario achieved multiple feats in swimming as she won 2nd place in three events and 3rd place in two other events.
In team ball games, our male high school volleyball team finished a tough 5th place. The girls team, on the other hand, finished a strong 4th place in their event. Our high school basketball team really turned heads. They averaged about 15 points of winning margins. Compare that to the only lost they suffered where they were beat with a mere 4 points. But the lost proved crucial that's why they ended up competing for 3rd place which they easily won instead of the championship match. The 3rd place finish equals the highest finish of the high school basketball team to date.
But the biggest surprise of all was our elementary basketball team. Even before the start of the meet, everyone surrendered to the thought that they won't go far. Even one win seemed to be very difficult to get. But they proved everyone wrong. By the 3rd day of competitions, they were still in the thick of a finals berth. Eventually, like with the high school basketball team, they ended up fighting for 3rd place against a very tall and strong team. But our kids proved themselves gutsy and humbled their opponents by wining the trophy for 3rd place in a very exciting match. This is the highest finish of an NCAP elementary basketball team so far.
But what inspired us the most is the attitude our participants showed during the meet. Even if the crowds of their opponents became very offensive in their comments, our pupils and students kept their cool and concentrated on the tasks before them. When they won, they turned on their humility button as soon as they can. Even in defeat, our dear Green Rangers showed class and gave commendation to whom commendation was due. The character they showed proved to everyone that NCAP pupils/students prioritize good behavior over winning, and for that, we're very proud of them.
NCAP's BULPRISA participation does not end in the district meet. Because of our good showing last week, several of our pupils and students will again compete in the Provincial Meet. We hope that the NCAP community will again give them the kind of support that were given them during the District meet.
Let's continue flying high the NCAP banner!
