Last September 17, on-site validators from DepEd visited NCAP to examine the readiness of the school to offer GAS for SHS. DepEd Regional Supervisor, Reynaldo Licay, together with Ms. Leonardo V. Bergado were the validating officers that visited NCAP. Dennis Mark Aglosolos (Principal), Marilyn Tucio (HS Head), Ma. Fe Sebastian (Registrar), Ruby Aglosolos (appointed Guidance head) and Jerome Camitan (in-coming SHS Head) answered questions from DepEd regarding the plan to offer SHS next year.
By offering GAS, NCAP will allow flexibility for students to continue exploring possible career tracks they'd like to take in college. Whether a student would like to take up engineering courses, business and accounting courses, or be in the medical or social sciences fields, will not be a problem for students that will be enrolled in GAS as NCAP will be offering elective subjects offered in other academic tracks. In the future, NCAP plans to also offer other strands in the academic track.
The DepEd visit ended with approval from the validators for NCAP's application to offer GAS in SHS starting next school year. We will soon start with the construction of a separate building for the SHS department of NCAP which will also house, aside from the classrooms, another sports center, a computer laboratory and a student lounge. With this, we are happy to get another two years in the lives of our students in nurturing them towards a more successful future.
